Michael Baker International Announces the Selection of Dave Thompson as Regional Director of Mid-Atlantic Region

Pittsburgh (June 11, 2014) - Michael Baker International has announced that Dave Thompson, P.E., has joined the firm as Senior Vice President and Regional Director of the Mid-Atlantic Region. This strategic, top level hire is part of a new operations-centric structure of the company, based on office level business units supporting seven corporate regions nationally and internationally.  As Regional Director, Thompson will play a significant role in advancing the firm’s extensive portfolio of expertise throughout Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

“Dave Thompson has been selected for this position based upon his extensive leadership experience spanning 11 years in managing all aspects of complex transportation projects and operations for Baker in the Mid-Atlantic region,” noted Kurt Bergman, Chief Executive Officer.  “Dave’s familiarity with the capabilities of the company due to his history with Baker, and his ability to identify key opportunities in the market space will allow us to expand services to our clients by providing a full spectrum of high-end engineering and consulting services throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.”

In addition to the selection of Thompson for this role, five additional Regional Directors have been named across the country and 33 Office Executives have been named nationwide to provide unified local leadership and offer clients a broader range of Michael Baker International’s services. Based on their extensive leadership strengths, the seven Office Executives selected to lead key offices in the Mid-Atlantic Region include:

  • Tommy Montgomery – Norcross, GA (includes Atlanta, GA and Knoxville, TN)
  • Vic Siaurusaitis – Linthicum, MD (includes Baltimore, MD)
  • Charlie Flowe – Cary, NC (includes Charlotte, Greensboro and Asheville, NC)
  • Scott Armstrong – Columbia, SC (includes Greenville and Charleston, SC)
  • Andrea Ryon – Alexandria, VA (includes Manassas, VA)
  • Paul Prideaux – Richmond, VA
  • Beth Drylie – Virginia Beach, VA
