Austin, Texas (May 4, 2017) - Michael Baker International, a global leader in engineering, planning and consulting services, announced today that Joseph Carrizales, P.E., has joined the firm as a Senior Project Manager in the Transportation Practice. Based in Michael Baker’s Austin, Texas, office, Mr. Carrizales will lead new business opportunities and manage projects in the Central Texas region.
In this role, Mr. Carrizales will draw upon his more than 30 years of experience planning and designing transportation facilities for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). While at TxDOT, Mr. Carrizales worked with the Federal Highway Administration, Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, local counties and cities, Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority, and TxDOT’s Area and Division Offices.

Throughout his career, Mr. Carrizales has been responsible for the development of a number of high-profile projects across the state, including environmental clearance for several projects, including: IH 35, SH 130, US183A, SH 45 North, Loop 1 North, US 290 East and West, FM 110, SH 71 East, US 290/SH 71, FM 734, RM 2222, RM 2244 and Loop 1/US 183.
Mr. Carrizales earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
